NRI Model 88 Signal Generator

This signal generator and my B&K 470 were found in a repair shop that I cleaned out in December 2001. The owner of the shop worked for Sears, so naturally most of the thousands of tubes and parts I found were Sears brand.  Unfortunately the shop was located in an old building that showed the scars of time. Infested by mice and other critters, water leaking in the roof, etc. This generator showed all of those signs of that when I found it. The cabinet was completely covered in rust, and mice had chewed away the power cord, but for some reason they left the probe cord alone.

This is my main and only generator that I use for troubleshooting and alignment. Shortly after I found this unit, I replaced the capacitors, added a new power cord, and repainted the cabinet black. My generator used several tubes in it's circuit.

As for an age of my unit, I have no idea. I'm guessing late 40s/ early 50s. A manual is available here, courtesy of BAMA.
