This was a freebie from a local repair shop that closed long ago. The
owner of the shop called me and said he was cleaning out his garage.
This was sometime in the summer of 2003, so I recruited my brother for
help, and my parent's minivan to haul the stuff, and proceeded to
Crawford County on a very stormy afternoon. Unfortunately he already
sold off the thousands of tubes he had, but I was able to find many
boxes of misc radio and TV parts, a huge Admiral TV/Radio combo, a file
cabinet full of SAMS photo facts for TV's, and this tester.
As seen in the above photo, this tester is in a rather miserable condition. There are several parts missing, most noticeably the roll chart and a toggle switch button. It did come with a after market adapter so it can test later TV type tubes, and luckily I do have some of the original paperwork that goes with this.
When time permits, I someday hope to fully restore this unit to like new condition rather than part it out. It would make for an interesting challenge.
