Homebrew Isolation Transformer

My isolation transformer is made of two matching, and very large transformers ( 600v to 12/240 v). My unit is rated for 2.0 KVA, which is well enough for general radio repair. My two x-formers combined probably weigh 60 lbs., so they are mounted on the floor underneath my workbench, with a receptacle mounted on top.

This piece of equipment is essential for anyone working on the very common AA5 transformerless type radios. Many of these use the chassis for a common connection, so depending on which way you plug in the cord, the chassis could be hot with 120 volts AC!  I use my unit on a GFCI receptacle, to add more protection. You can still get shocked using one of these, but if you know what you are doing, these chances are minimal.

More to come after I scan a good diagram and post it here.
